Dr. Lanie Yacovone
Dr. Lanie Yacovone, DVM, PhD is a dedicated veterinarian with deep roots in both science and community care. Raised in South Florida, Dr. Lanie earned her bachelor’s degree in Microbiology. She then pursued her PhD in Biochemistry at Wake Forest University, blending a strong academic foundation with her passion for animal health. Dr. Lanie received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida.
After years of providing compassionate care through her mobile veterinary service, Dr. Lanie is proud to open Westlake Veterinary Urgent Care right in the heart of her local Westlake community. Dr. Lanie will still provide mobile veterinary services for existing clients offering accessible, stress-free care for pets in their home environments, and now expands that mission to a space with the same dedication to comfort, compassion, and high-quality care.
Whether at your doorstep or in the urgent care center, Dr. Lanie is committed to treating your pets like family. When she’s not seeing patients, she’s a proud mom to both two cats and a small human and has helped with relief work with general practice veterinarians and local emergency veterinary hospitals in the area.

Lily Miller, Practice Manager
Lily Miller has been working in the veterinary field for more than seven years and is both RECOVER CPR certified and Fear Free certified. Although she originally stumbled into veterinary medicine by accident, she quickly discovered a true passion for helping animals and supporting their care. She loves the combination of medicine and animals and finds it incredibly rewarding to help ease a pet’s pain and improve their quality of life. At Westlake Veterinary Urgent Care, Lily especially enjoys the unique schedule and fast-paced environment that keeps every day exciting and different.
Outside of work, Lily stays busy with her two dogs, Goose and Cheese. Goose, her three-year-old chocolate Labrador, is both a cardiac alert and mobility service dog who also enjoys agility and scent work. Cheese, short for “Cheesey Gordita Crunch (No Spicy Ranch),” is a playful Doberman who loves to run around and keep everyone entertained. A fun fact about Lily is that she was once a nationally ranked triathlete as a child, and while she no longer competes, she still enjoys staying active whenever she can.

Sarah Kamfonik, Certified Veterinary Technician
Sarah grew up in Massachusetts owning horses, dogs and cats. Caring for them through their illnesses and injuries is what inspired her to choose a career in the veterinary field. She attended college and became a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) in Massachusetts where she worked in general practice for more than 10 years before moving to Florida with her husband, kids, and dogs.
When she isn’t at work, Sarah enjoys going on any kind of outdoor adventure with her family. Her 2 dogs, Jet (a lab mix from Animal Control) and Peach (a shepherd mix that survived parvo as a puppy and was Sarah’s patient at the emergency hospital) have traveled and hiked the entire east coast and several states in the south with her and her family.
After holding leadership positions in both the emergency and shelter medical settings, she has taken a position at Westlake Veterinary Urgent Care to be closer to home and her family. Her favorite part about working at Westlake Veterinary Urgent Care is being able to help the animals and their owners of the community she lives in.
